Aftercare

How do I care for my eyelash extensions?

Aftercare is the most important part of making sure your extensions last as long as possible, and for the natural lashes to stay healthy. After your appointment be sure to:

• Keep them dry for up to 6 hours
• Avoid oil-based products
• Avoid the use of makeup
• Wash them daily with a foam cleanser and cleansing brush.
• Wash them immediately after swimming, beach-going, or working out.

You need to remove the sweat, oil, and debris from the lashes.

DO & DONTS

  • DO brush out lashes with lash wand

  • DO your best to sleep on your back

  • DO thoroughly cleanse lashes

  • DO love them & show them off!

  • DON'T get lashes wet for at least 6 hours after any lash service

  • DON'T run water directly on your lashes

  • DON'T rub or touch lashes

  • DON'T expose lashes to oil or waterproof makeup

  • DON'T use a lash curler

What product(s) should I avoid while wearing eyelash extensions?

Look for oil-free skincare products. Lash Extension glue breaks down when there is oil, makeup, sweat, etc.
Below are recommendations of what to avoid with the most common skincare products used -

Makeup Removers: Read the labels. Liquid makeup removers that separate, or micellar water, are NOT lash extensions approved. Even if they say “oil-free”, they may still contain other ingredients such as glycol, glycerin, etc., that can
damage the extensions. Oil-free makeup remover wipes are great to remove makeup off the lids, but ALWAYS clean lashes with a foaming lash cleanser.

Eyeliner: Avoid gel, pencil, charcoal and glittery eyeliners. Eyeshadow is okay to use as long as it does not contain glitter.
We highly recommend a liquid eyeliner safe for lash extensions.

Mascara: Use of any mascara is highly discouraged as it can settle in the lashes and cause the glue to breakdown quicker and it’s very hard to remove. Mascara is not allowed with volume extensions as it will close and clump up the fans. Wearing mascara in lower lashes can also affect the top lashes.

Eye creams/serums: Many eye creams and facial serums contain ingredients not compatible with eyelash extensions. Even as you apply around the eye area, it tends to travel throughout the face. To minimize retention issues always avoid applying it on the eye lid, or too close to the lash line.

What do I do after a Keratin Lash Lift?

Keeping your eyes dry for 24 hours after your appointment is critical in maintaining the curl of the perm. Avoid any kind of moisture such as steam, sweat, mascara, water, swimming, hot tubs, etc. Exposing the lashes to moisture prior to 24 hours can relax the curl and lessen the life of the lift. Avoid oil and lash serums for 48 hours.

What do I do after a facial treatment?

Staying hydrated is important after a facial to flush out toxins. Refrain from touching your face; our hands will transfer dirt and bacteria onto the skin which might result in new breakouts. Change out your pillow cases and face towels. Stay out of the sun, as the skin will be extra sensitive at this time. Avoid makeup for the first 3 days to avoid makeup blocking the pores. Skip the gym, sauna or steam room for the next 3 days, as this will heat the skin and open the pores. Avoid using actives such as acids and retinol for at least 3 days after the treatment.
